Our Bumblebee's classroom is at the brand new Runcorn site!

Our busy Bumblebees are year one. We have 5 boys and 5 girls

The Bumblebee's staff include myself, Stacey, I am the class teacher

Coleen, Amy, Pauline and Leanne are our fabulous teaching assistants.

Sarah will cover PPA on alternative Tuesdays.

 

We follow the explorers curriculum which involves:

Communication and Language

Thinking and Problem Solving

My Body and My Self

My Creativity

My World and My Community

This term we are learning through the theme What Came Before Us?

 

Our extra curriculum activities are as follows:

Monday- the light room

Tuesday- the big playground and the light room

Wednesday- alternative weeks educational visits

Thursday- the hall for physical education and sensory activities

Friday- the light room

We also take our learning outdoors throughout the day

 

Pupils progress will be tracked using Evisence, you can have access and see photos of your learning journey and all their progress! If you are unsure how this works please contact myself Stacey or the school office.

Our learning journey in Summer comes as follows:

Weeks 1- 3- Our Talk for Writing book is: The Runaway Pancake- we will be exploring the story, making our own pancakes and practice our fine motor skills stamping the characters of the story into the dough. We will also explore line patterns helping the pancake to runaway!

In topic we will explore princesses and princes and explore St George's day as part of our history learning. We will go on educational visits to find the castle and the giant (Hale village)

Computing- building a robot! As part of our computing learning we will use "bee bots" designed as a pancake to further explore our story.

Week 4- our Happily Ever After journey will explore the tale of The Three little pigs, we will design different houses and compare them to the castle for the princess

as part of our PSHE/PSED learning we will explore different ways our body moves

Week 5 and 6- our next fairy story to explore is Cinderella! Exploring a wide range of textures linked to familiar stories creating objects from the story such as a pretty ball gown for Cinderella and her glass slipper

RE focus, our theme this term is What Symbols Tell Us About God? We will explore where we go to see special symbols such as inside a church and explore what is important to us.
